What to Do in Job Fairs

07-15-08

http://www.peninsulaemploymentgroup.com/images/job_fair1b.jpgA job fair is another perfect place to do your job hunting. When you go to an event like this, first and foremost, you should have a detailed strategy for you to make the most of your time. It is better if you pre-register for the event and if possible, get hold of the list of companies that will be participating in the job fair.

Make an effort to research basic information about the companies that you are interested to work to. It is not enough that you give the recruiter your resume and go. At least present some sort of a teaser or mini-advertisement that will showcase what you can offer to the company.

Components of a Successful Job Search

07-4-08

http://www.biojobblog.com/JobSearchNewspaper.jpgThe three basic components of a successful job search are focus, definition and persistence. In order for you to succeed, it is vital that you know how to narrow down your search and be specific with what type of job you really want. Learn the art of presenting your skills and accomplishments in such a way that will differentiate you from the other candidates. This will be your ticket to success in getting that job. Be prepared with facts and figures that will support your accomplishments. Never assume because it is not enough if you just tell what you have accomplished. It is more impressive to tell how you have accomplished everything.
